Focus and Scope

Rural Planning Journal is a journal published by the Postgraduate Program in Rural Area Planning, Sintuwu Maroso University with ISSN xxxx-xxxx (online media). This journal contains articles on the results of Rural Area Planning with a scope (but not limited to):

training and marketing used for community empowerment,
empowerment of SMEs and local communities,
increasing social access,
service activities and application of science and technology to the community by students/university students,
empowerment of regional communities,
education for sustainable development, and
design and implementation of appropriate technology for the community.

Peer Review Process

Peer Review Process

Peer reviewers have the right to provide some feedback to authors to improve the quality of published manuscripts and editors for editorial policy decisions according to their respective expertise.

Willingness

Peer reviewers must inform the editor of their willingness to review the manuscript for publication. If they are unwilling, the peer reviewer must notify the editor.

Confidentiality

Manuscripts that are reviewed are confidential documents. They must not be communicated to others without the author's permission.

Standard Objectivity

Peer reviewers should adhere to the principles of objectivity and avoid personal criticism of the manuscript author during the review process. All comments should be accompanied by clear and supportive suggestions.

Clarity of References

Peer reviewers are encouraged to provide authors with information about research with relevant literature, or case studies that have not been cited, that have substantial similarity or overlap with the manuscript being reviewed.

Conflict of interest

Peer reviewers are not permitted to use unpublished manuscript materials for personal use without the written consent of the author, under any circumstances. The information and ideas contained in the manuscripts submitted are confidential and must not be distributed or used for personal advantage.
If a peer reviewer has a conflict of interest due to competitive, collaborative, or other relationships with any of the authors, institutions, or companies involved in the publication, they are not permitted to evaluate the manuscript.

Open Access Policy

This journal provides open access, which in principle makes research freely available to the public and will support a greater global exchange of knowledge.

 

Etika Publikasi

Rural Planning Journal is a peer-reviewed national journal, available in print and online and published twice a year. This statement clarifies the ethical behavior of all parties involved in the act of publishing an article in this journal, including the authors, the editor-in-chief, the Editorial Board, the peer-reviewers and the publisher (LPPM Universitas Sintuwu Maroso). This statement is based on COPE’s Best Practice Guidelines for Journal Editors.

Ethical Guidelines for Journal Publication

The publication of an article in a peer-reviewed Jurnal Transformasi is an essential building block in the development of a coherent and respected network of knowledge. It is a direct reflection of the quality of the work of the authors and the institutions that support them. Peer-reviewed articles support and embody the scientific method. It is therefore important to agree upon standards of expected ethical behavior for all parties involved in the act of publishing: the authors, the journal editors, the peer reviewers, the publisher and the society.

Pascasarjana Universitas Sintuwu Maroso as publisher of Rural Planning Journal takes its duties of guardianship over all stages of publishing seriously and we acknowledge our ethical and other responsibilities. We are committed to ensuring that advertising, reprints, or other commercial revenues have no impact or influence on editorial decisions.

Publication Decisions

The editor of the Rural Planning Journal is responsible for deciding which of the articles submitted to the journal should be published. The validation of the work in question and its importance to researchers and readers must always drive such decisions. The editors may be guided by the policies of the journal's editorial board and constrained by such legal requirements as shall then be in force regarding libel, copyright infringement and plagiarism. The editors may confer with other editors or reviewers in making this decision.

Confidentiality

The editor and any editorial staff must not disclose any information about a submitted manuscript to anyone other than the corresponding author, reviewers, potential reviewers, other editorial advisers, and the publisher, as appropriate. Editors at all times evaluate manuscripts for their intellectual content without regard to race, gender, sexual orientation, religious belief, ethnic origin, citizenship, or political philosophy of the authors.

Disclosure and conflicts of interest

Unpublished materials disclosed in a submitted manuscript must not be used in an editor's own research without the express written consent of the author. Privileged information or ideas obtained through peer review must be kept confidential and not used for personal advantage. Reviewers should not consider manuscripts in which they have a conflict of interest with any of the authors, or the institutions.

Duties of Reviewers

Contribution to Editorial Decisions

Peer review assists the editor in making editorial decisions and through the editorial communications with the author may also assist the author in improving the paper.

Promptness

Any selected referee who feels unqualified to review the research reported in a manuscript or knows that its prompt review will be impossible should notify the editor and excuse himself from the review process.

Confidentiality

Manuscripts received for review must be treated as confidential documents. They must not be shown to or discussed with others except as authorized by the editor.

Standards of Objectivity

Reviews should be conducted objectively. Personal criticism of the author is inappropriate. Reviewers should express their views clearly with supporting arguments.

Acknowledgement of Sources

Reviewers should identify relevant published work that has not been cited by the authors. Any statement that an observation, derivation, or argument had been previously reported should be accompanied by the relevant citation. Reviewers should also call to the editor's attention any substantial similarity or overlap between the manuscript under consideration and any other published paper of which they have personal knowledge.

Reporting standards

Authors of reports of original research should present an accurate account of the work performed as well as an objective discussion of its significance. Underlying data should be represented accurately. The paper should contain sufficient detail and references to permit others to replicate the work. Fraudulent or knowingly inaccurate statements constitute unethical behavior and are unacceptable.

Originality and Plagiarism

Authors should ensure that they have written entirely original works, and if the authors have used the work and/or words of others that this has been appropriately cited or quoted.

Every article that will be published is checked on a similarity level with a policy of no more than 30% of its similiarity

 

 

Biaya Publikasi

Submission of article manuscripts to the Rural Planning Journal is free of charge. If the manuscript is accepted for publication, the author will be charged a publication fee of Rp 250,000 (IDR 250,000.00). The amount of the publication fee applies starting from the Volume 01 Number 1 (2024) edition.
